Vintage La
Conner Thrift and Consignment Shoppe is run by Soroptimist International
of La_Conner. The revenue is generated
solely by generous donations of goods from our local community and the
sale of large furniture and original artwork on consignment. From this
revenue, we pay our rent and other overhead costs. With the remainder of
our “profit,” we support many service projects, fund some women’s awards,
and grant several women's scholarships for continuing education.
We are open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The store will
be staffed by two people on each of two daily three hour shifts. In
addition to these hours, volunteers hold occasional "work parties" to
clean the store, pull outdated items, and display seasonal items and
decorations.
While staffing Vintage is one way of supporting our thrift shop,
members may contribute by one or more of the following ways: working in
the yard, sponsoring an ad in the newspaper, distributing brochures
or special event announcements throughout the community, scheduling and
maintaining our work calendar, serving on a shift substitute list, pricing
goods at home, or contributing an annual financial donation. Each
Soroptimist member is expected to support Vintage in some way.
Opening and closing procedures for Vintage La_Conner
have been established, and are in a binder at the store. In
addition, pricing guidelines are also printed and are available near the
cash register and in the work room.
